The Botanic Gardens is a popular photography location in Glasgow’s West End and for good reason. There is a wealth of flora, plants, shrubs and trees which are housed within the grounds of the gardens as well as indoor areas within the Glasshouses and the Kibble Palace building.
On the day of my visit the rain was pouring down with rain so I was only able to photograph indoors.
My tips for good shots:
- Try photographing leaves which are backlight by the sun so patterns really stand out
- The glasshouses can be very hot - watch out for lens mist when walking between areas within them.
- Dont just photograph nature: within the Kibble Palace there are many marble statues which are very photogenic (see my shot above of the hand of Eve)
